SHORT COURSES

Installation Art

Installation art has evolved into a complex and integral art genre, increasingly seen in large-scale art events such as documenta, biennales, major art exhibitions and art fairs. As we look into the development of this specific discipline, we explore diverse methods and practices artists have used to intentionally engage, entice, alienate and disturb audiences to create a unique encounter.

Explore the perceptions and interpretations of essential elements that determine the creation of an installation from an art practitioner’s perspective. Learn how to appreciate installation artworks with a diverse range of context and intentions from artists all over the world, made between the 1960s to the present.

Class timings may change to accommodate gallery or museum visits. Participants are required to cover the cost of admission (if any).
