Teaching Certificate on Speech and Drama

Explore different teaching strategies, stimuli and discussion topics for the teaching of speech and drama, including practical applications of educational theory. This course consists of two parts – foundation and advanced learning.

The foundation level will focus on the practical delivery of speech and drama skills, including learning how to prepare and plan schemes of work, lesson plans, evaluating aims, objectives and learning outcomes and assessment procedures.

The advanced level will build upon the skills and methodology acquired during the foundation level. Further explore the importance and integration of voice, movement, music and singing, devising and acting skills in detail, as well as classroom management, motivation, cultural approaches to learning, relaxation and concentration skills, the use of music in the drama classroom, designing workshops, health and safety, child protection and record keeping.
