LASALLE College of the Arts celebrated three decades of growth, success and achievements on Wednesday evening with Guest of Honour, Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong, and 500 guests in attendance.
The celebration kicked off with a live charity art auction of pieces donated by LASALLE’s illustrious alumni, with all proceeds going to the loveLASALLE Education Fund. Highlights of the evening included a specially made animation short film and performances by LASALLE alumni: Stella Seah with her hit single “Go Local”, Sara Wee with a medley of Singapore songs, and Sheikh Haikel who brought the house down with a rousing rendition of “Still Steady”, accompanied by dancers from LASALLE’s School of Dance.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also toured the newly opened LASALLE 30th anniversary exhibition Modern Love, which presents a range of works in various media by exemplary alumni artists who have made pivotal contributions to Southeast Asia’s contemporary art scenes, and Present Futures, an exhibition by the Faculty of Design showcasing award-winning projects that reflect on the past, present and future of design.
