In this review of Native revisions, Michael Lee of Ocula walks his readers through the exhibition starting from The strAnge ball (2004–07), a series of images by Korean artist Noh Suntag, to Japanese artist Tomoko Yoneda's works "on the legacy of war in Japan". He then moves on to Anup Mathew Thomas's dark humorous pieces and finally, the "six haunting images of forests in Singapore making up Beyond wilderness (2014-16)" by Chua Chye Teck. Lee highlights that "the works in Native revisions are odes to uncertainty".
The exhibition, held at Gallery 1 of LASALLE's Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore, is on from 10 Feb to 12 Apr 2017.
